Food Waste Reduction Program is launched in Wong Tai Sin District!

Environmental Protection Department collaborated with Greeners Action, Wong Tai Sin District Council, The Wharf (Holding) Limited and The Link REIT launched a half year “Wong Tai Sin Food Waste Reduction Program”. The program launching ceremony had been organized on 8 Dec 2013 in Plaza Hollywood, all participated restaurant’s representative and mall’s representative attended the ceremony and showed support on the program. We are honored to invite Assistant Director of Environmental Protection Department Mr. Elivs Au and Wong Tai Sin District Councilor Mr. Ho Yin Fai gave an opening speech.

The “No Leftover” Program in Wong Tai Sin district has also started from 18 Feb 2014 to 31 March 2014. Any first 50 no leftover photo up-loaders will be awarded eateries cash coupon or healthy food gift set.

In order to widely spread the message of “No Leftover” in the district, a brand new activity “No Leftover x School” will be launched during 10 March to 14 March. A brand new Save Food activity was introduced in Wong Tai Sin District called “No Leftover X School”. It aims to raise student awareness on food waste issue and cultivate their “No Leftover” habit. “Big Waster” and Ambassador of Greeners Action will visit the winning school in order to interact with student and promotion save food message. In this activity, three winning school include T. W. S. St. Bonaventure Catholic Primary School , Confucian Tai Shing Primary School and Stewards Pooi Tun Secondary School.
